Module 1: Gap Analysis
What are your Procurement knowledge gaps?
PLEASE READ THIS DOCUMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU START OUR GAP ANALYSIS.

THE PURPOSE OF TAKING OUR GAP ANALYSIS

The purpose of our Gap Analysis is to determine the answers to three questions about you:

-
What is your current earning capacity?
-
What are your Procurement knowledge gaps?
-
If we closed these gaps, how much could you earn?

We will issue you a comprehensive report to help you visualise where your current salary and Procurement skills are in comparison with your peers, and how much you could be earning compared with your current income if your knowledge gaps were closed.

OUR GAP ANALYSIS IS A SOPHISTICATED TOOL

Unlike generic salary calculators and simplistic "cookie-cutter" multiple choice tools you commonly find on the Internet, our Gap Analysis is designed to help you accurately determine whether you currently have marketable entry-level, intermediate, or senior Procurement knowledge. We do not base this on your education qualifications, but rather on your responses to our comprehensive Gap Analysis. Our comparative data utilises a combination of payroll and job board data, consultation with regional industry subject matter experts, and nuanced, in-house knowledge. We use data to accurately position your current skill set and potential earning capacity against the Corporate, Oil & Gas, Government, Education, and NGO industry sectors.

WHAT IS REQUIRED OF YOU

It takes approximately three hours for Learners to complete the Gap Analysis. It can be taken over several days, at your convenience. The Analysis is designed to be undertaken on a PC / laptop, not on a mobile phone. You will need access to Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel to complete the Gap Analysis. We ask you not to submit documents edited by another person or use a search engine or ChatGPT to answer the questions, as it will make our analysis inaccurate.

WE NEED YOU TO SUBMIT FOUR DOCUMENTS

In order to assess your business writing capability, we need to analyse four documents, written only by yourself.

We ask you to email us four business or university documents you have recently written. This helps us to better understand your command of business English.

1. Your most current resume, written by yourself. Please don't improve the resume for us! If you don't have a resume, please write one.
2. A Cover Letter you submitted as part of a job application. If you don't have one, please write one for a Procurement officer role.
3. A document or email you have written at work. It must be at least half a page long and it can be any maximum length. The more recent, the better.
4. A second document or email you have written at work. It must also be at least half a page long and it can be any maximum length.

Please attach these four documents to an email and send to: support@nolanschool.com
In the subject line, simply state: "Advanced Program - Gap Analysis - Learner Documents".
We prefer Word documents, but we accept PDFs. Please do not send us links to documents in a Cloud.

YOU WILL RESPOND TO AN ONLINE QUESTIONNAIRE
You will respond to an online questionnaire in which you will:
-
Provide us with further onboarding details.
-
Answer four Reflective Questions on your own perception of your Procurement capabilities. At the end of the Program, we will ask you to respond to a further set of Reflective Questions, for you (and us) to compare and consider your two responses.

YOU WILL THEN ANSWER SIX QUESTIONS FOR US TO UNDERSTAND YOUR PROCUREMENT KNOWLEDGE
We will ask you six questions, designed to evaluate your knowledge of Procurement. The questions also evaluate your level of Foundation Skills, which are capabilities that you are supposed to have learned in primary school, such as comprehension and numeracy. Foundation skills are critical for success in the workplace.

YOU WILL FIRST ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS ON A MICROSOFT WORD TEMPLATE TO ENSURE NONE OF YOUR WORK IS LOST IF YOUR BROWSER CRASHES!

We will provide you with a MIcrosoft Word Template on which to anwer all our Gap Analysis questions. You can then copy your information to our online submission form.

OUR EVALUATION
The Gap Analysis has no pass / fail mark. It is not designed to give you a "score", but rather to inform both of us on areas that are obstructing your ability to get better Procurement jobs. Every Learner has different strengths and challenges.

STRICT CONFIDENTIALITY

Your documents and information are treated as strictly confidential and in accordance with the Australia Privacy Act (1988).

TURNAROUND TIME AND WHAT WE GIVE YOU

We will acknowledge receipt of your submission by email. Allow a minimum of 10 business days for us to provide you with a considered result. This will not affect your Program deadlines. You will receive:
